The Sting, costes en cotton club lease retail space in de kalverpassage amsterdam

Kroonenberg Groep has entered into a long-term lease agreement with The Sting for retail premises for The Sting, Costes and Cotton Club in De Kalverpassage in Amsterdam. The Sting leases a total of approximately 7,000 m², spread across the ground floor, basement and first floor.

A 7,000 m² department store called The Rasphouse will open here, bringing together all of The Sting Companies’ brands. To make room for the shops, several retail units in De Kalverpassage are being combined. The premises on Heiligeweg, which previously housed Nespresso, are being incorporated into the Kalverpassage. This will create a large new shop connected to The Sting’s existing shop. This extension will also create space to connect all three shops via internal passageways. The distinctive entrance to De Kalverpassage on Heiligeweg, also known as the old Rasphuispoort, will form part of these shops, providing direct access and giving the shop its name.

Herman Franzen of The Sting: “For us, this is a fantastic opportunity to pool and showcase our company’s strengths; we see this as a significant milestone for our business. We are a no-nonsense company that makes its own way in the fashion industry. With our own brands and our own retail formats, we enjoy doing our own thing. We’re grateful to Kroonenberg Groep for placing their trust in us so that, together, we can create something special.”

THE STING COMPANIES

Since 1982, The Sting has been a fixture on the Dutch high street and has grown to become one of the Netherlands’ most recognisable fashion retailers, with more than 50 shops. The company stands for no-nonsense fashion with character: on-trend, accessible and always with a distinct identity. With its own labels such as Daily Aesthetikz, Hallinger, Club République and O’Blue, The Sting continually develops collections that reflect current trends and the changing preferences of consumers. As well as The Sting, the portfolio includes brands such as Costes and Cotton Club.

Following this major refurbishment, The Sting, Costes and Cotton Club are expected to open their doors in the refurbished Kalverpassage in mid-2027.

This leaves just one retail unit available in the Kalverpassage, measuring approximately 1,900 m², of which 500 m² is on the ground floor and 1,400 m² is on the first floor.
