Kroonenberg Groep is developing a brand new apartment complex at the Stationsplein in Almere: Metropool Zuid. After the complete demolition of the old building in early 2023, contractor Akor started construction of the complex designed by Paul de Ruiter Architects in late 2023. Construction reached its highest point yesterday. The hoisting and placing of the last broad slab was festively celebrated in the presence of the owner, contractor and architect.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Metropool Zuid is centrally located on the corner of Stationsstraat and Metropolestraat, just a stone’s throw from Almere Centrum Station. The complex consists of five floors and blends well with the architecture and building volumes of the adjacent properties. The building will ultimately provide 40 rental units varying in size from approximately 70 m\u00b2 to 90 m\u00b2. Around 1,000 m\u00b2 of commercial space will be built on the ground floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lesley Bamberger, CEO of Kroonenberg Groep: “Metropool Zuid and Primark will together form a nice gateway to Almere city centre. We look forward to having a beautiful building here, where many people will enjoy shopping and living.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richard Fransen, managing director of Akor: “As builders, we naturally want to realise the architect’s design as beautifully as it was conceived. The team is working very hard on that. Once you reach the highest point, it\u2019s nice to take a moment with all concerned to reflect on what we have achieved here.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The building is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
