FIRST GREEN LOAN WITH RABOBANK

Kroonenberg Groep, one of the largest private real estate companies in the Netherlands, has concluded its first ever green loan. The new five-year financing was agreed with Rabobank and covers part of the property portfolio with an energy label A or better.

This provides a sustainable continuation to the successful, long-term partnership between Rabobank and Kroonenberg Groep. The funding will initially focus on two leading projects with a high sustainability profile, namely Buitenveldertselaan 148 in Amsterdam and Metropool Zuid in Almere.

The Buitenveldertselaan 148 property concerns a high-quality office development of approximately 3,100 m2 with an exceptionally sustainable A+++ energy label.

Located on the bustling Stationsplein in Almere, the Metropool Zuid development will create 40 private sector rental flats and around 1,000 m2 of retail space in the plinth, with an energy label averaging A++.

Quality and sustainability have been at the heart of Kroonenberg Groep’s strategy for many years. Rabobank has provided the green loan to Kroonenberg Groep to support the sustainability of its real estate portfolio and to highlight the shared ambition of both parties to make the built environment future-proof and energy efficient. The expansion of this collaboration confirms the mutual trust and reinforces the joint pursuit of a future in which sustainable real estate plays a key role.
