The building permit received by Kroonenberg Groep for the housing complex to be developed on Buitenveldertselaan in Amsterdam is now definite. This development project includes an iconic 75-metre residential tower next to a 35-metre residential building. NEOO is the delegated developer for this project.
Now that the building permit is definite, preliminary work for construction has begun. The first of these activities is the removal of the car park. Both the car park and the ground floor are currently being demolished. Construction is scheduled to start in September 2019 and is expected to take around 2.5 years to complete.
For this development, Kroonenberg Groep is collaborating with Studio Gang Architects, an eminent internationally operating architecture firm based in Chicago. This project will create 248 homes, 40% of which will be mid-priced rentals and 60% of which will be rental apartments in the private sector. Piet Oudolf will design a plaza between the buildings. The ground floor will provide approx. 500 m² for commercial functions. A 2-storey parking garage with around 130 parking spaces will be located under the buildings. There will also be a large bicycle storage area for more than 700 bicycles.
