Kroonenberg Groep has reached an agreement with Under Armour regarding a long-term lease for a property at Kalverstraat 16-18 in Amsterdam. This property offers approx. 1,165 m² of retail space in which Under Armour will open its first European flagship store.

Under Armour, an American sportswear brand, is the leading challenger of major players such as Nike and Adidas. Its aim is to constantly improve the performance of athletes by combining the requirements of sports with innovation and technology. In its new flagship store, Under Armour will focus on all of its high-tech products and designs for men, women and children.

Until 2015, this property had accommodated the SupperClub and CoolCat. Kroonenberg Groep is currently involved in the last phase of redeveloping the entire complex in order to return it to its original state.

The ground floor of this property on Kalverstraat has a clear height of almost 8.2 metres so it is being divided into a split-level situation in which the lower split level will have a clear height of approx. 4.3 metres and the upper split level will be approx. 4.4 metres high. Since the space that accommodated the Supper Club is included in this redevelopment project, half of the upper split level will have a clear height of almost 6.7 metres.

The result will be a unique and stunning retail establishment with an iconic facade that will definitely attract admiring glances to Under Armour’s flagship store.

Kroonenberg Groep is replacing the nine small apartments above Kalverstraat 16-18 with seven spacious deluxe rental apartments aimed at the mid-market segment.

Kroonenberg Groep was represented in this transaction by KroesePaternotte. Under Armour was assisted by Cushman & Wakefield.
