Kroonenberg Groep will begin redevelopment work in the Kalvertoren this summer; the shopping centre will be transformed into a shopping arcade. At the official reopening, the renovation will be underlined with a new name: ‘Kalverpassage’ (Kalver arcade). By partially opening up the first floor, the shopping centre will be made more appealing and lighter. The materials that will be used and the open design mean that shoppers will soon be able to walk between Kalverstraat and Heiligeweg through the new shopping arcade, making it a more integrated part of its surroundings. The redevelopment, designed by Cie in partnership with 3W real estate, will be completed in the autumn of 2017.

Last week it was announced that when renovation work is completed in the Kalvertoren, the first flagship store of Saks Off 5th will open with a total surface area of 4,240m² split between the ground floor and the first floor. Access to the first floor will be provided via escalators and there will be an iconic storefront with entrances from Kalverstraat and in the Kalvertoren.

Kroonenberg Groep is being assisted by Kroes Paternotte for the leasing of the Kalverpassage.
