Hilvertshof opens renovated entrance and H&M megastore
Kroonenberg Groep has completed an important phase in the redevelopment of Winkelcentrum Hilvertshof in Hilversum. A grand opening will be held this week for the entrance to this shopping centre on Kerkstraat that has just been finished. Opening on the same day will be the H&M megastore. This new location covering 2,800 m² is one of the larger H&M stores in the Netherlands and will be selling all of the H&M collections including H&M HOME and H&M Beauty.
Kroonenberg Groep started the activities needed for redeveloping Winkelcentrum Hilvertshof in 2015. This shopping centre is undergoing extensive remodelling according to plans created by Architectenbureau Rijnboutt B.V. in which light, air and space are the most important elements of change. Austere rectilinear shapes are being replaced by curved shapes featuring many glass surfaces. The number of entrances is being reduced from eight to five. Certain floors are also being opened up to create height and admit more light. This transformation of the shopping centre has made it possible for retailers to lease larger retail units.
In addition to H&M, Zara will also be expanding and will open its renovated store in December 2016. Primark, which is adding to its existing stores, will open its doors in this entirely remodelled shopping centre in the spring of 2017. Other tenants will include Blokker, Kruidvat, Jambelle, Van Os Lederwaren and Vishandel Volendam. All of these activities are expected to be finished by the end of 2016. Meanwhile, the shopping centre simply remains open to the public.
