Redevelopment Kalvertoren with 3W real estate
Kroonenberg Groep and 3W real estate are entering into a new partnership for the redevelopment of the Kalvertoren in Amsterdam. This redevelopment will make sure that the Kalvertoren is future-proof for the coming decades. The plan includes making the entrances a more prominent feature of the streetscape. The gallery on the first floor will disappear; in the new design, this floor will only be accessible through the stores once the visitor is inside the building.
Kroonenberg Groep became owner of the Kalvertoren in 2014, with its existing tenants such as H&M, Hema, Swatch, The North Face, Douglas and Leonidas. The shopping centre was originally the product of architect Pi de Bruijn, (architecture agency Cie), and De Bruijn was also closely involved in the new plans for its renovation, which is expected to be completed at the end of 2016.
The Kalvertoren will remain open to the public during the redevelopment. With the signing of a number of new temporary leases, Kroonenberg Groep has now succeeded in re-leasing all vacant shop units on the ground floor in the Kalvertoren.
Leading retail concepts like Men at Work, Ridiculous, Meyer & Meyer, Red Bull (O.D. Media), By Fabrio, Cover Store and Parfum by me have now opened temporary locations in the shopping centre. For all tenants, the tower's central location was a primary consideration in opening a shop here.
