Element Hotel on Gelderlandplein Amsterdam
Kroonenberg Groep has entered into an agreement with Bari Gruppe GmbH & Co. KG for opening the first Element hotel in the Netherlands on Gelderlandplein in Amsterdam. The Element Amsterdam Hotel will offer ‘long-stay’ hotel rooms for business travellers as well as tourists. The existing office building ‘De Veldert’ will be completely renovated and trans-formed into the new hotel. Bari Gruppe GmbH & Co. KG and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. are working together on developing the new hotel. After the existing office building has been transformed, the hotel will first open its doors to guests at the end of 2015.
Element hotels make use of modern design techniques and ample lighting to provide guests with an oasis of comfort and relaxation. In addition to comfortable beds, all rooms are equipped with an excellent workspace and a fully equipped kitchen. The hotel also of-fers a wide range of additional facilities including a round-the-clock fitness facility as well as a restaurant and bar.
Element hotels are famous throughout the US and Canada and, after a successful first opening in Frankfurt, Element Amsterdam will be the second hotel operated by this chain in Europe. The Element hotel chain is part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, which also in-cludes Hotel Pulitzer in Amsterdam, the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport hotel and Hotel Des Indes in The Hague.
Kroonenberg Groep and Multi Vastgoed are working together on a major renovation of the Gelderlandplein shopping centre in accordance with a design by Rijnboutt. The work activities scheduled for completion in the 2nd phase of the project are already at an ad-vanced stage.
Kroonenberg Groep received advice from BNP Paribas and D/Dock within the framework of the above transaction.
